The tactical folder is a knife of choice for many law enforcement officers, military and security professionals.  With the advancement of the knives in the market today the folder is a well developed, designed tool that can be used not only as a secondary weapon but also an important tool to assist with many functions of all these professions.  With the growing popularity of the tactical folder TCTI has developed an 8 hour course that targets all advancement of the folder.  The program starts with knife nomenclatures, carry, draw, open and use of the tactical folder.  With this comes the responsibility of knowing the current laws, policy and understanding of today’s Use of Force principles and the Force Continuum. 

The TCTI Tactical Knife Folder Program includes:

• Survival Learning Research (examine the motor learning and survival research)

• Nomenclature of the tactical folder

• Proper methods of the folder carry

• Proper methods of the folder draw

• Proper methods of the folder open

• Use of Force principles and Continuum (one major reason for law suits)

• Principles of edged weapon assaults

• Vital edged weapon targets

• Knife lines of attack and defense

• Defensive countermeasures (essential for defending against assaults)
